Within your industry, what are some of your favorite areas of focus, and why?
I have a big passion for marketing research. Landing my first job in an online shopping startup opens a whole new perspective of marketing. It’s somewhat related to my degree but it also provides me with an opportunity to learn and grow. I am working as a content marketer. I usually apply marketing research knowledge to understand and find out what kinds of content online readers like. so that I can create appealing content for them.

HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO DENVER?
Originally, I first heard about CU Denver when I did an Auditing class during my undergrad with a professor at Assumption University who is also an alumni of CU Denver Business School. He shared his valuable experience with the school and his life in Denver which inspired me to come here. After I decided to go back to school, I looked at options for an AACSB-accredited graduate business school and for a degree program that I could finish within a year. CU Denver stood out as one of my top choices.

Boston and Washington, D.C.
By Joanne Wambeke
While attending a conference in Boston this July, Joanne Wambeke of International Colleges and Partnerships was overjoyed to reunite with three ICB alumni in the Boston area: Yueran Wei, Xin Wang, and Jinghang Jia. The group gathered in Boston’s China Town for an authentic Chinese meal (complete with chicken feet). During her October vacation to the Washington, D.C. area, Joanne also reconnected with ICB alumna Fan Zhang.
Lingguang, an ICB alumna from the class of fall 2012, works as an intern for a Chinese investment company in Chengdu, Sichuan. In contrast with most Chinese students who plan their academic and career goals way into the future, Lingguang seeks out engaging experiences today that will benefit her personally and/or professionally tomorrow. And, since life is short, believes that students should avoid doing something that’s not of much interest to them. She hopes to gain more career knowledge and enjoy travel with friends during this, her Chinese Zodiac year.
