Within your industry, what are some of your favorite areas of focus, and why?
I have a big passion for marketing research. Landing my first job in an online shopping startup opens a whole new perspective of marketing. It’s somewhat related to my degree but it also provides me with an opportunity to learn and grow. I am working as a content marketer. I usually apply marketing research knowledge to understand and find out what kinds of content online readers like. so that I can create appealing content for them.

Preparing Tomorrow’s Globally Competent Citizens & Professionals
Ten thousand international educators from around the world recently converged at the Colorado Convention Center for the spring NAFSA 2016 Association of International Educators conference, the largest annual event of its kind. The goal? To sharpen focus on best practices, emerging trends, and new programs designed to prepare tomorrow’s generation of globally competent citizens and professionals. At the top of the list was an interest in how to maximize educational approaches in increasingly diverse classrooms of first-generation college students, minority populations, and international students.
On April 21, 2016, the University of Colorado Denver celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Rosa Parks Diversity Award, honoring staff, students and community members for their dedication to promoting diversity, inclusion, and unity. Among the six award recipients was Tayud Mongkolrat, a sophomore in anthropology, who was born in Nonthaburi, Thailand.
When Mongkolrat was a young teenager, his family moved to Colorado so that his mother could pursue a PhD in Special Education. Mongkolrat was somewhat familiar with social activism – several of his family members in Thailand had fought for the rights of social equality and religious diversity – but when he came to the United States, he gained a true understanding of what this meant.

“My mentor encouraged me to visit Denver and feed my artistic passion,” said Heun. She researched universities online and decided that the University of Colorado Denver’s ESL Academy was indeed “where I needed to focus next.”

I wanted the option to focus on refrigeration within my mechanical engineering major.

HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO DENVER?
Originally, I first heard about CU Denver when I did an Auditing class during my undergrad with a professor at Assumption University who is also an alumni of CU Denver Business School. He shared his valuable experience with the school and his life in Denver which inspired me to come here. After I decided to go back to school, I looked at options for an AACSB-accredited graduate business school and for a degree program that I could finish within a year. CU Denver stood out as one of my top choices.
